Stupidity - Part 34

I hope that you've done this -
I drove the $200/$1000 Cortina accross town,
it ran like the head gasket was blown,asked
a friend/mechanic about fixing it.
Finally opened the hood,& noticed that
one of the plug wires wasn't on the distributor cap.
- at least noone else saw my stupid mistake.

No...that was smart. You looked. You found the problem.

Stupid would have been dropping it off at the local garage and paying them to do a head gasket.

Terminology, nothing but terminology! Never call anything a failure! You call it a learning experience. Stands to reason, you did learn that an engine doesn't run right with a plug wire dangling loose and not connected. So, that's a learning experience!

Some of us call them, SENIOR MOMENTS! You know, when you run down the battery or burn up the starter trying to start the car and then realize it's out of gas! :laugh: Not me, I'd never do that!
