That's because haynes tears down 1 car and the instructions they write are for THAT 1 car... then they put the appropriate years/makes for all similar models of that car/bodystyle on the cover.
I know that your post was of the stunned/not-stunned humorous type but...
I have a few Haynes manuals but I don't know why I keep them or even why I ended up with them in the first place. Their stuff has ALWAYS been unreliable to someone who is really dealing with a car, just the skimmed surface information and often inaccurate to boot. I suppose that everyone here knows that the Bentley books and a few others devoted to specific aspects of repair/maintenance/mods are where you should be spending your time.

Most every dead little MG I buy has a Haynes - or part of one - in the trunk! I'll bet if the owners had bought a Bentley manual instead those cars would still be on the road!
I found most Haynes manuals in trunks of old MGs that I've bought to rebuild or part out have gotten wet and have swollen up and the pages have stuck together...I figure the previous owners used them to chock the tires with.
Jack,I thought I saw a reprinted workshop manual in the Moss catalogue.Of course it may be different to what you used to have. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif
If any of you guys have a Haynes manual and can't stand it, feel free to mail it to me. It'll save me the cost of buying one. I've got BMC manuals, a Bentley manual ( I think ) and a couple of other manuals. While I'm sure they're much more accurate than Haynes, there are times one needs quick access to procedural information more than extreme accuracy /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif
Yeah. I got it figured out. The two strands I had to clip, continued to unravel back to the handle. They sort of formed their own special spring. I pulled the whole thing yesterday, found the problem, clipped them all the way back and then tinned the tip of the wire.
Probably wouldn't have found that in a manual /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif
