I'm not sure what the shelf life is on the stuff or how long it is good after the can (non-aerosol) has been opened. Smells and works a lot like the old Naval Jelley product which I know would lose it's potency after sitting a while.

I've got about 1/3 of a gallon left over and I think I will pour it up into a smaller can to reduce the amount of air in the storage container.
