TR6 Stock TR6 radiator...

Question: How many coolant rows does a stock TR6 radiator have? I am having my custom 4-row radiator scaled back to a what-I-think-is-stock 3-row radiator, for fan clearance. The shop is gonna fudge the whole setup forward a little to make even more room.

Bill

why don't you just change the mounts and go w/the 4 row?

I thought of that but I would have to redo my Goodparts metal shroud which didn't excite me too much. My radiator core had a couple of pinholes (don't ask) and needed repair anyway. As an extra, I called Ron Davis out in Arizona, I think, and they will make a really slick all aluminum radiator for well under $6oo, still would have a clearance issue (they use Spal fans exclusively). For those interested, aluminum radiators, the way they are designed, are much tougher than stock with copper fins. Work of art, saw one on a track Midget.

They are great. Fit well, very sturdy, well designed. I have the aluminum ones but would have spent a few bucks more and gotten the stainless set. The aluminum tends to dull down easily and needs constant polishing.

Recommend them highly.

Excellent, thanks for the comments Bill. I was trying to decide between the aluminum and stainless.

71TR,

Not sure if you noticed when you saw the 6, but I had the polished stainless shroud; all you need is windex to make it look brand new. I went ahead and ordered it with the cut-outs for the air cleaner and oil cooler should I decide to add them in the future.

I wonder if he makes the shroud in plain steel to powder coat in owners color preference. Might have to email that to him.
