Thanks for all the info from the first post.

I checked the carb diaphram thats good, spark seems to be the problem so I replaced the coil.

Still getting no spark with the new coil, is there a ballast resistor that is hiding somewhere.

I replaced the coil with a 12 volt external resistor type.

I was getting a weak spark with the old coil and now there is no spark with the new one!

Any ideas?

It's really a matter of elimination...
Have you checked for a spark directly between the coil HT wire and the ground as you crank it over? if that sparks then you have a faulty rotor/cap issue (or HT wires)
If there is no spark there, check and tell us what voltage you are measuring at the coil, you should be seeing full battery voltage with the engine off and ign on.
If that's correct check the coil by shorting the LT ground side to the engine with ign on, as you release the LT ground you should see a fat spark from the HT wire to ground
If that's ok then you may have a problem with the points or the electronic ignition (not sure what you have)

Actually, because of the ballast resistor, the voltage can be as low as 6 volts (with the points closed) and still be OK.

Replace the points and condensor then. Static time it and press on.
