TR2/3/3A Still fighting turn signal issues.

Here's a brief history. Rt flasher stopped working. Removed control head and found rt signal wire shorted against a makeshift wire I had used for horn ground, because of a broken brass ground ring. Got replacement for the brass ring and installed. Re-installed control head. Here's the problem. I turn the right signal on and it works correctly. I turn the left signal on, all signals flash(both rt and left, front and rear and dash). 1) Is there anything common between the two sides other than the control head? 2) In another post, with a diagram of the control head, it shows a felt ring. Is that some type of insulation for the ground ring or other electicity carrying parts? I don't have one, but then I also didn't have one when everything was working.
Using a multimeter or test light, is there any way to check without removing the control head again? Anything else I should check?
Thanks. The good news is THE HORNS WORK very well.

Never Mind. I pulled the control head back far enough to partially disassemble. The green and white wire, which was the one that shorted out initally, must have had only a few strands holding it to the terminal eyelet and they broke at some point when reassembled. It was completely loose and touching the green terminal. This time I will hook a ground to the body of the control head and check before I completely reassemble everything. Just have to wait until radio shack opens to see if I can get a terminal that small. I couldn't see how to just delete my post.
