The rubber compounds that silicone is not compatible with do not swell. The fluid leaks right past them; right away(i.e. within 48 hours)/
I still believe silicone is a better fluid on older LBC's.
Why?
non-hygroscopic, no moister absorption; does not attack the paint, when spilled. The pedal feel on earlier cars is almost imperceptibley the same and travel, ditto. No need to replace it, which should be done with Dot3 and Dot 4, maximum two years.
