One of my favorite records is "In the Beginning" by SRV. It documents a show from 1980 at Austin's Steamboat 1874 club, back when he was "Litte Stevie Vaughan". It captures Stevie and Double Trouble in fine form, and it just bristles with engergy. The best live SRV recording, ever.

Just saw Jimmie play last summer. He opened for Bob Dylan. Oops- two summers ago. :yesnod:

One of life's regrets was passing on his concert when it hit Anchorage Alaska in July 1990. He'd just put out In Step, which if not the best, was certainly one album that showcased his incredible talent.
