The Colorado English Motoring Conclave held their 27th Annual Conclave in Arvada this last weekend Sept. 18-19. Steve Thompton won 1st place in the "Big Healey" class with his 1963 3000 BJ7 Works tribute with fuel injection. This win was competing against 44 other big Healeys. I waited for Steve to post this information, maybe he's too shy, but I doubt it. There was a couple of Gold level Bj8's there I believe so Steve's win is impressive. Anyone who gets a chance should see this Healey. Not many can build a car with this level of modifications and this level of craftsmanship. I assume the car is a joy to drive.

It would be great to see some photos of that car, including the engine bay illustrating the FI setup.

Great accomplishment, very difficult to achieve.

Congrats, Steve. :yesnod:

Here you go Mark:
This car has so wonderfully been modified that even to the casual observer you may overlook some of the mods. Visit Tom's website and peruse away, you'll be amazed, I promise.

Doug, thanks for the accolades and posting for my BCF friends.

Johnny, thanks for the photo attachments... if I could figure out how to attach a couple from the show I'd do it... can someone explain it to me?

I gotta say, I really was surprised to have gotten First in Class at the event. Maybe even a bit embarrassed as there were quite a few amazing cars. That said, after 4 1/2 years and over 3,000 hours of my time (mostly alone in the shop), it was extremely exciting for my car to be singled out.

Oh, and "yes" Doug it really does drive nicely. If anyone is interested they can check out my suspension upgrades project on my website for particulars.

Cheers,
Steve (aka, HealeyPassion)

@ Steve,

I believe it when you say there were quite a few amazing cars but although I wasn't present I can hardly believe with all the modifications you have done (which must have given you a headache sometimes) and which were done at such a high standard and craftmanship, that it goes for me without saying, that all your efforts had te be rewarded with a prize.

Harry

Okay, let's see if I've got this figured out. The first image is of the "Big Healey" show area at the Conclave. Yours truly is on the end nearest the camer.

In this pic I'm doing my best to explain my AH EFI system to someone.

Hope this works.
