Steering wheel paint

Plasti-Kote High temperature engine enamel. Be sure and not wear rings after its painted or use driving gloves to avoid chipping the finish.--Fwiw---Keoke
 
I used SEM brand paint for plastic. Has been okay.

Krylon also has a special paint for plastic that I have used but not for the steering wheel.

There is a primer called 'Bulldog' that is for plastic (it's clear) that I used beneath the SEM.
 
I just had my 1958 TR3A re-sprayed and I asked the painter to also do the steering wheel. He said he had never heard of this. I told him to do it black, just like the car. He sprayed the car and the wheel black and it came out beautiful. The wheel was off the car when he sprayed it.
 
A local steering wheel resto guy uses Dupont Imron after a good sealer...
