Steering wheel hub adapters.

Dpes anyone know what steering wheel hub will fit on an Midget that may interchange from another vehicle? I've got an old 3 spoke Superior with perfect chrome spokes and I cant find a hub for it. Been thinking it might be nice on the Midget for a while.

I took an old Spridget steering wheel and cut out the aluminum hub.
Then drilled and tapped that hub so that the aftermarket wheel would bolt to it (in my case, a 10" wheel on the racer).

I'm not sure of what the bolt pattern is. I haven't ever pulled it off or pulled the horn rubber off to see. NOt sure if I want to do it anyway.

I made a hub for an mid 60's Datsun pickup once by cutting the steering wheel apart and drilling the hub for a 3 spoke Superior wheel. I was thinking the same thing with this car, however I wouldn't want to cut the wheel I have on this car apart to do it.

Not the Midget wheel, the bolt pattern for the replacement Superior wheel.

I need to change out the turn signal switch. How does the wheel come off? I can't find any place where you could mount a puller onto the wheel for removal.

Have you tried just loosening the center nut & yanking it free? That usually works for me.

yeah, I have a nice woodgrain steering wheel and splined hub, but the spline is too big for the steering shaft. Guess I can't use it???

It's not necessary to remove the wheel to change the switch. It's all underneath the two piece plastic cowl below the steering wheel. You may have to drop the column to access the forward screw on the cowl, but the last time I did mine, I got lucky and didn't have to.
