I was in the process of rebuilding front suspension on 74 gt
I pulled small cover off end of steering rack to check bearing play, very little gear lube came out. How much do I put back in,if you fill it wouldnt it run out to boots past bushings? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I don't remember the quantity... Some racks have a grease fitting you can use to fill it. Some people have filled it using the access plate for the damper springs - but usually I hear people needing to jack up one side of the car, open the boot on that side and fill slowly letting the lube flow downhill - then close up the boot. That's how I had to fill my new rack.
