what are they for and is there specific measuement/number for them to be on a late model BN2 steering box?

Hi Tim, The shims are placed between the end cover and the steering box housing and are used 'AR' to set the worm shaft end play to near zero.--Fwiw--Keoke

Great, The Saint Andrews Society is having our "party" early on the 27th. I'll even lend you my pirate captain's hat that I wore in the last play, you'll have to provide your own eye patch and sword though!
