Steering Box- Bracket

Hi All -

So, my Saturday afternoon job of replacing the original steering box with one from Denis Welch has now taken 5 days. I now have the new steering box in the right place but I now have an issue getting the mounting bolt through the bracket. It appears to be a slight spread which is preventing the mounting bolt from sliding through. I have tried to close the spread with a c-clamp, pliers, and slew of colorful metaphors. Nothing works.

I'm open to any suggestions from those that have preceded me.

Thanks,
Jim

If the mounting bolt has the correct diameter drill the bracket to fit.
