Finally was able to shoot yesterday. Had a lot of fun and many of the shots turned out. Never pulled the IR camera out though.DSC_7592sm.jpg

OUTSTANDING!!! (y)(y)(y)(y)

Glad to see you got to do it.

Saved the best for last!!

I spent some time trying to determine source lighting on them, had to conclude it was natural light. The full length shot was what my "best guess" came from, a single soft shadow and the consistent highlight across the steel panel over her shoulders... You'd need an artificially softened south (sun) skylight for that.

That last one is exquisite BTW. Very nice!

Thanks Doc. Here face is slightly out of focus. I was able to go back in and sharpen it though. Might need to break down and get some more autofocus lenses as I get older.

That "older" thing has hit me, can't use a viewfinder with my right (the dominant) eye, have a -4.00 diopter correction eyepiece on all the bodies now for the left peeper. Can't focus otherwise.

There is no harm in that shot from the slight soft focus, I'd bet the unretouched shot would be fine as well. It's the composition overall that makes the shot. Love the diagonal, the whole feel of the scene.

Again, nicely done!

Since the "edit" option disappears after a short time in this section of the forum, this is something I forgot to ask: mind telling what optic(s) you used? The full-length shot appears to be something like a 35mm? The second with the same. First and third look to be a "normal" or a bit longer, like a portrait length (80~90)?

You nailed it (not surprising). Full length 35mm @ F4. Second 50mm @ F11, I wanted the detail in the background. First shot is the Noct lens, 58mm @ F5.6. Third is 50mm @ F5.6. I did a few shots with my 85, gotta get those converted to jpgs.

I don't even remember which photos I was talking about. Work has been all consuming. Making the weekend about "ketchup".
