I bought books from thrift books for years--they used to just send out
multi page "flyer"--My interest is history and World War 2--now they are on line--all paperbacks----cheap--generally
$4 to $6 bucks--free shipping--
"gently used" as they say in the trade--lots of different categories.
Some of you might already know of www.thriftbooks.com For those
that don't--check it out--

Harold - ThriftBooks is excellent. Another I often use:

https://www.bookfinder.com/

A world-wide search of book sellers, by title, author, price, condition, etc.

My wife works for Lindsay Wildlife Hospital, Walnut Creek CA a volunteer doing homecare rehab for wild rabbits, squirrels, and other fur bearing critters--Other
volunteers rehab birds--She was looking for more information on ground squirrels-----She found a book on a study (by a California-university)- done during WW2--the study was made over
a couple of years--in the field---in all weather--observing with binoculars taking notes on the habits of the ground squirrels (talk about dedication!).
And then published a book on their studies--Penny looked at several online book search sites and found one in Brussels BL--bought it and had it shipped here--
It is a very "heavy and detailed" book--everything any "ground squirrel nerd" would want to know---In between referencing it--she uses it as a door stop!

A great and very interesting speaker who kindly put an audience member down when they got their second cell call during her speech. "Would you like me to stop while you get that call" No more calls during the speech.
