I had to swap out the generator and starter on the '67 I am working on. Odd problem is, now it won't start. It was running before. Disconnected power. Replaced both units. Generator is in situ and not hooked up because I was waiting to polarize it.

No spark. So I swapped coils. No spark. Took off diz cap, turned on key and manually opened up points. Spark!. Put back on cap, car no start and no spark at plugs.

What did I do wrong? What could it be.

Vince - You may have a problem with the distributor cap, or the carbon brush in the top center of the cap may have fallen out. Remove the high tension coil wire from the distributor and crank the engine and see if you have spark at that wire. If you don't, then you have a problem with the coil or the wiring. If you do have spark, then you are loosing it in the distributor cap or rotor.
Cheers,
