i cant get it to turn over just clicks. I had it running a few weeks ago and it was fine. Any ideas? battery was just charged. i regreased the contacts with dielectric, nothing.

Have you tried jumper cables yet? If so and "no joy" try:

Have someone turn the key as you WHACK th' starter motor with a hammer from below. BE AWARE of all the electrical connections, etc. and BE CERTAIN the car is NOT in gear!! If it starts to spin after a couple whacks, the starter has packed up and likely needs rebuilding (new brushes, commutator dressed, bearings etc).

Did you clean the contacts before applying dielectric grease? Did you clean both ends of each battery cable and the engine to chassis strap? Is there anything staying on that would run the battery down? Trunk light? How old is the starter? How old is the battery? What kind of terminals do you have on the battery cables? Are they the replacement type that clamps onto the battery cable?

i replaced the terminals. now it looks the same as before just newer. i have a great nack for saying something is not the problem because i cheacked it, only to find out that realy was the problem. Jump started it and i had power. i needed to replace the batt any way.

's why I ~asked~ if ya had tried jump startin' it FIRST...

Were the wires clean and shiney where the terminals clamp on to the cables?

High resistant cables and connections can impede the flow of electrons.

seems as though the brown wire was to the starter was fried. that should be done today. parts coming from moss tommorrow for other wireing joy
