Started rebuild-just a head gasket!

I started the rebuild of my motor after what I thought was rod knock. Turnes out the bearings were just fine. The headgasket was the problem, blown between 1 & 2. Everything was OK but real dirty. Motor had been rebuilt before at some point to .030. I planned to go to .040, but now its likely going to be .060 with a cam. I'm very excited about it, even though it turned out the rebuild wasn't absolutely necessary. Oh well. At least it will be done!

I don't feel "warm 'n' fuzzy" about a 0.060" overbore on a B block... mebbe I'm all wet, but I always heard 0.040" was as far as you'd want to go before considering sleeves...

Well, with this block, I may HAVE to go to .060. That was my original plan. I've heard of B motors well over .100. Maybe it will blow up, but I doubt it. There's too many .060 members in my local club.

ah. Well, if it works (the proof is there!), it would seem no big deal. Go for it!

.060 is getting awfully thin - watch your cooling!
