Just moving a few walls.. digging out the floor, putting piping in for under floor heating, a new kitchen, bathrooms. electric, plumbing got a few more walls to remove. Well better get back to work--- need to finish before my wife gets home from work.

Ha actually my contractor and I are planning on about 4-5 months.

Sailor owns boat.
Boat has burned out light in galley.
Sailor decides to change bulb.
Sailor notices socket is corroded, decides to change socket.
Sailor notices wiring frayed while trying to change socket.
Sailor decides to change wiring.
Sailor notices galley ceiling slats are rotted while changing the
wire.
Sailor decides galley ceiling slats need changing.
Sailor notices .
this goes on and on and on and on and pretty soon, Sailor is
undertaking a
major renovation of his boat because of a burned out lightbulb.
 
That's funny Tom, but as the saying goes, there's a lot of truth in jest! :thumbsup2:

Pretty close to what happened.
I needed a new kitchen.. but since there was never really enough electrical capacity... and I didn't want to put a new kitchen on the improperly installed floor tiles, so once I needed to tear out part of the floor i REALLY want underfloor heating, and since the floor is out well all new plumbing..... and upstairs the patio leaks through the floor so it needed to torn up for repairs.. and once we were working on the upstairs floor well the bathrooms need repairs and the laundry room was so small that I needed to take the door frame apart to the washing machine in or out.... So that is how a new kitchen turned into a 4 month project.

Huge undertaking!

Ain't it great to be a homeowner!
 
And here I thought my pending bathroom remodel was going to be daunting! I doff my cap to you, sir. :cheers:

so is it done yet?

I had a book years ago called the $5000 stoves handle - and did have a friend & colleague who decided to renovate the kitchen (the house BTW was the house his grandfather had homesteaded and Bert (the friend) was more than 30 years older than me. They decided to keep the stove - the only thing they decided to keep - he was almost finished with the demo and the last piece of ceiling fell off and landed on the stove, smashing it.

We booked a new ktchen last month they have scheduled installation for the first week of October (though we will be doing the demo as we want to recycle the cabinets)

Last week we likewise bought some flooring for the basement - only to find it is coming in in November - so we are looking for options.
