Since it's the 30th anniversary of the release of the original Star Wars, and the real turning point it represented... What are some of your memories and thoughts in general?

Princess Leia in that bikini outfit on Jabba's skiff.

I was 10 years old. Me and my friend took the bus to all by ourselves to go see it - 11 times.
I still have all of my Star Wars cards nicely protected in sleeves.

...Well I have GREAT memories since I worked on Return of the Jedi or its undercover name at the time Blue Harvest.
I owned a sailmaking firm in Marin Co. My best friend owned a fabrcation Co and together we supplied all the masts, spars rigging and sails for Jabba's Barge. We were 3 weeks on the set out side Yuma, AZ. This photo is of another old friend that stopped by to vist in his Cub. View is the back side of the set. I have qite a few never seen photos of the set...dont think I was supposed to be taking them!!

My daughter & I went to every one on opening night, school night or not, it was our night...mom stayed home - except for the last one...that one she took her finacee to as I was out of country....he'd never seen any of them before so she had him watch my entire set of them beforehand.....& she's 35 now.

Took my oldest son to see it at our local theater. He loved it and has been a fan ever since. one of my memories that won't go away (thank God)

I was 4.5 at the time in 1977, and I remember walking through the parking lot with my mom to go see the first one. I don't have any memories of the theater, but I remember going. I've seen them all countless times, including an all day 3-movie marathon, and one attempt at an all-night run through.

Star Wars was pretty much the center of my childhood. Toys, movies, games in the yard. A good portion of my life as a kid. Good stuff, still one of my favorite movies.

I really like Joseph Campbell's take on the story. Kinda "justifies" watching and enjoying it as an adult. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif
