Standing at the threshold of rebuild....what next

Looking into my crstal ball, the picture is a bit obscure.

So, for those with more experience and clearer heads for
thinking, here's my question.

Engine will go in with tranny attached. Can we create a
punch list of final parts to order? This onesy twosey
stuff is eating me alive; but I can't see the forest for
the trees.

Thinking I'll need engine tune stuff (staying stock for
the while)

Considering new motor mounts; tranny mounts (??); U-joints.

Oh, need the fiber washers that go on top of the valve
cover.
Seems like hoses; grommets; and all the smog stuff (some of the
connections seemed to fall off rather easily when it ran).

Proper oil(s), extra filter(s), oil and air; thermostat;
what type of coolant;

Whiskey; aspirin; tylenol (with or without codeine) and
heartburn medicine.

Anything I've missed? I'd like to order bundled packages,
cause they are all inclusive, like maybe a tune-up kit,
for example.

Swimming in stuff to think about....

Hi 2 Wrench, know how you feel I'm working on my engine and getting killed by all the nickle and dime stuff. Thought I had an exhaust manifold gasket, wrong what I have goes to something else. Now waiting on the right ones.
Waiting for parts seem to be part of the game.
My suggestion is that you go into the catalogs and see what is needed and try to get it all ordered at once. I use the Moss TR3 catalog in connection with my Stanpart book to come up with what I need. I call around and see who has the stuff I need and then place the order.
Bundeling is great, has worked for me in certain areas. You have to do your due diligence and hope you have all that it takes.

Much good luck to you, know it will work out. Just don't get impatient. Hah easy for me to say, Right!

Regards, Tinkerman

Re: Standing at the threshold of rebuild....what n

:iagree:

On the other hand, if you have enough whiskey (or whisky, depending on the nationality of your preferred brand), or if you have enough Tylenol with codeine, you're set! :wink:

Re: Standing at the threshold of rebuild....what n

Actually, I think mixing codeine and alcohol is a
very bad thing....beats up the liver.
