Stan Freberg - one of the greats is gone

Then I found this FAVORITE of mine:

Had completely forgotten about Daws Butler... who did so many cartoon characters. Very distinctive voice.

Sad news. One of my all time favorites. I'm so grateful for all the gems he shared with us. Fun to hear the familiar voices in there too. It really made me think of old Hanna Barbarra cartoons. Yogi, Huckleberry hound, Pixie and Dixie, Even the Jetsons and the Flintstones.

Daws Butler was really prolific (like Mel Blanc). Butler died in 1988.

Yes. Love that one! I have that one on tape. Our local NPR radio station plays "Saturday Morning Radio" which has a lot of old Freberg stuff. It's always a hoot.
