What is the difference between grade 8 hardware and 18-8 Stainless hardware? Should 18-8 be used on suspension?

If ya finish THAT by tomorrow, I've both A.S.T.M. and S.A.E. tomes here I'll loan ya, Vince. Both are multiple volumes, but shipping's on your *nickel*. :smirk:

...funny we don't have a coin called: "chrome", innit? :jester:

Basic info is:

1) If ya hit it with a grinder and it sparks, it ain't "Stainless".
2) If ya put a magnet to it and it attracts, it ain't "Stainless".

HTH!

EDIT: That's kinda simplistic, as LEAD would pass those "tests", so beware. If it's dull grey, it's LEAD!!!
