Stag Stag clutch slave cyl

Does the slave cylinder mount with the shoulder of the cylinder forward or aft of the engine flange?
I can't get a clear picture from the maint manual. Mine is mounted forward, but leaves some slop in the clevis rod. An aft mounting would limit the travel of the piston in the slave cyl.

If memory serves, mine is mounted aft, so you have to disconnect the hydraulic line to remove the slave from the flange (or the engine from the car).

Although some of the drawings in the ROM are wrong (one even shows the clutch lever on the wrong side), there is one in the section on engine R&R that shows the clutch slave cylinder and it's mounting.
