As I implied before, I really don't know when the "square" ones were introduced, but my '69 Mk3 and '70 GT6+ both had square ones, and I'm about 99% sure they had buttons for remote operation of the starter.Geo Hahn said:I believe the square (with no button) unit did arrive somewhere along the run of 4As.

Indeed, that is what I did: I looked year-by-year from around 1963-68 and spot-checked some earlier years.TR3driver said:I did the same thing Andy did (I think), and checked the Lucas catalogs. The 1967 catalog still shows the 2ST (with different part numbers as noted).
