As some of you may know, if you visit the Austin Healey forum here at BCF, you will find links to Austin Healey registries for the BJ7, BJ8, AH 100 and 100M. Well, now, here in the Spridgets forum, we have a form for you to submit your AH Sprite (not Midgets) to a Sprite Registry. This registry is maintained by Howard Collins (BCF member Scargo). When you fill in the info on the form and submit it, the data will go to him via emil, we don't maintain the data here on BCF.

Just Click the Registry Link at the top of the Spridgets forum, then click the link to open the form.

Register your Sprite today!

(EDIT: I had Howard's member name wrong - now corrected - Scargo)

Yes, I agree !

Basil,
Thank you for everything you have done to make the Sprite Registry launch possible and by hosting it through the BFC. Your tireless efforts to keep this Forum up and running for the British car community is truly amazing and very much appreciated.

Hi Basil. I was about to enthusiastically enter my Sprite's data in the form, were it not that it is mandatory to enter full name, address and email details in the form, which seems odd to me, because it is about the details of my Sprite and not about me. In spite of Howards intention to keep all information in confidence, he does not necessarily have the right cybersecurity tools to ensure against a data-hack, identity-theft and thus cannot guarantee data-protection. Sadly I will therefore not complete the form and I suggest that this is approach of collecting full name, address and email details is thoroughly reviewed. Tx, Nico

I appreciate your concern and you are under no obligation to complete the form. A couple of points however: First, this form does NOT belong to British Car Forum. This form is maintained by Howard Collins (member Scargo). The information required is the same as for every other Austin Healey registrar that we host here (as a service to the AH community). If you look at the BJ7, BJ8 and 100 forms found in the Austin Healey forum you will see that the same information is required. You will also see the following disclaimer in red:

In accordance with the policy of the Austin-Healey Club of America, any personal information (name/address/email/phone), etc., is held in confidence and is NOT provided to any other party without your prior approval

I think a registry that doesn't include ownership information would be pretty much useless. We have hosted the other Austin Healey registry forms for several years and have never had an issue with someone's personal information being released without a person's consent. That said, this forum has no control over that once the form in submitted since we don't own the forms do not maintain a database on this server. But if you are not comfortable providing the information, then by all means don't complete the form - it's certainly a personal choice. I am simply providing the forms (Sprite, BJ7, BJ* and AH100) for Howard and the other registrars the as a favor and to help the Sprite and AH community.

Tx Basil. Clear. I know that it is not a BCF form, because it clearly says so. Maybe I should instead have addressed Howard himself directly, and not to BCF, which merely hosts the forms but does not maintain the information submitted therein.

That would be great. I am glad that we have been able to host these forms for those who wish too use them for many many years without incident.

Hello Basil. Thanks for doing this. I put my Sprite into the registry but I can't see where/how to view the registry. What am I missing.

The registry is not owned by British Car Forum. It is not online but maintained by Howard Collins. Or PM him here (member name Scargo). Contact him on at the email mentioned on the form for information about the registry.
