sprite not driving very well.

my 65 sprite wants to turn off when i press on the gas, can anyone guide me in the right direction as to what to do or look into. <font color="yellow"> </font> /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/england.gif
 
car only does it with in the first minute or two of first driving then it stops. it feels like its receiving to much gasoline.
 
HI VV, sounds a bit like it isn't getting enough fuel during the initial warm up.Have a look at the choke adjustment and the carb settings. OH! and if we can not figure out the problem there are a bunch of guys down on the Spridget Forum that know all about them little fellas---Keoke- /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

If you mean that the engine doesn't respond to the throttle without misfiring when you first start the engine from cold, this would be fairly normal. You probably need to apply some choke when starting & maybe for the first couple of minutes.

On the other hand, if this happens when the engine is fully warmed up, it may well be that it is getting too much gas, due to a carb float level that is too high, or a leaking fuel inlet valve.
