I have the exhaust from a 1275 midget currently on my 1098 sprite. It has what looks like two mufflers. Seems to work ok, just wondering if this is creating to much back pressure and decreasing performance.

I would think that it would be more restrictive, but you probably only talking about a couple hp.

It should work just fine since only one of them is a muffler and the other is a resonator!

thanks for the help, seems fine, going to fit a header pipe and exhaust this winter just not sure which combo. If anyone has a great sounding combo post away

I have modified 1275 with a LCB, 2 1/4 Pipe with an RC40 and am quite happy with it. If you are running a stock head, I would not use 2 1/4 pipe.

This is a question that has a lot of answers, so here is my input. The best you can do is an open header. Now, some will tell you otherwise, but the key is properly tuned carbs to your exhaust backpressure. Since an open header isn't possible, Anything less restrictive is better once you get the carbs retuned. I'm running a 2 3/4" system, and had it on a 1275 before adding the SC.

Well, what's "TOO MUCH" back pressure? I'm sure the factory didn't design "too much" back pressure into it. It may not be optimum, but will work "just fine"!!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif
