Hi all,

I've got a summer driver, a 1500 with some mild mechanical issues that I want to sort out for this summer. "Milo" is an underused, but generally sound Northern California car (approx. 90k miles) that I drove from CA to Ontario last summer. The body is in very, very good shape, the biggest flaws being dents in front of each door where a S.P.O. removed the check straps.

It made it back home, from California to here in Ontario, but the ignition and the horrible Z-S 150CD carb both showed problems. As well, the front tires showed heavy wear on the inner sides, symptomatic of bearing collapse. Also, the clutch slave cylinder sprung a leak, and a rebuild kit failed to remedy the problem (the inner cyl walls were fairly scored).

Below is the beginnings of a write-up of my plan to get it ready for summer fun.

Hehe, you have to love / hate eBay and VicBrit/Moss. Makes it very, very easy to spend the paycheque each week...

Suggestions on rotors & pads? Brands, vented, etc.?

I have used EBC "greenstuff" pads on my Bugeye and liked them. Not sure if they even make vented rotors for Spridgets (if they do, LMK.....I'd buy a set), but I have used stock replacements from Brembo. They are cheap enough and from a known name (not an el cheapo company). I believe they are about $50/pair.

Order a new webbing kit for the Driver's Seat. You won't believe the difference in seat feel on your Glutaeus Maximus. Cheapest improvement you'll make in driving comfort.

Ooh, interesting suggestion!

- What's the webbing like on these, just regular ol' 2" seatbelt-type material?
- Do I actually need a kit, or can I remove / tighten / restaple the existing strapping?
- Can it be done without removing the seat covers?
- Has anyone posted a how-to?
 
Several different types. Look in the MOSS or VB Books. Rubber bladder that the seat foam sits on. When I updated Bugsy's seat the bladder was $15-20. I also had a spare foam bottom for D.S. that came with the car. Big, big difference in driving comfort. You can duplicate and get foam from one of the big sewing stores and carve up with electric carving knife to fit.
 
Certainly sounds worthwhile! Are the seats interchangeable side to side, if I want to do them one at a time and still be able to drive the car?

Anything else, oh assembled gurus of the MG?
