Has anyone ever used an early Spridget Shifter Dome (Steel with the rubber boot) On say a late 1500 series midget? Wondering if it is compatable with the 1500 trans shifter.
Not sure about the 1500, but I am using that set up with the Datsun 5 speed, they said it will not work with the 5 speed.
So I have 2 Sprites with 5 speeds and stock metal can shift covers but I did have to use an MGB rubber boot otherwise the stock boot would pop off in 1st and reverse.
Paul of Morrisservice cuts and welds the shifter on his kits to get the Datsun shifter to lineup. The shifter needs to be about 1/2" to the left to work properly in the can.
