Spridget Floorpans & Repair Panels

I eventually need to replace the floorpans in my bugeye. From time to time I see them show up on fleabay. I got out bid on a set today. What is the difference between early and later spridget floor pans? Moss shows two numbers for MK1 & 2 Sprites and later cars.

If anyone has any to sell I would be interested!

Also, the rear fender repair panel for a bugeye is crazy expensive. I guess it's all the compound curves. (452-205) The list is $188! :eeek: I seem to recall Trevor made his own. But I'm not sure how far mine are gone or how much I can repair. Are their any less expensive alternatives?

John - do you mean 452-215....I'l send you a PM

Well, you know where I stand when you're ready....

John

I have a floorpan for both a Bugeye and later Sprite/ Midgets. They are almost identical. The Bugeye pan is spoken for. PM me if you are interested in the other. All new mwtal.

After doing some poking around on the web, it looks like the major difference in the early and late floor pan is the cut out for the 1/4 elptical springs. Does anyone know if there are other differences?

Here are two photos... one lifted from the Classic Motorsports Midget, the other from brother Ray! (thanks Ray!lol)

Here's the CM midget. This one also looks like a full floor pan... one not cut in 1/2.

I've heard some of the floor pans for SALE don't have the depression in them for proper fitment of the gas pedal?

In addition to the cutout for the spring the later pans have oval wholes towards the rear that land between the front and back of the bulkhead panel. You can see them in the picture of the car underside you posted. I've use early pans on later cars but not the other way around.

hmmm, I wonder what the oval holes are for.

Chris, I owe you a PM about my hubs. I haven't had a chance to mess with them. sorry.

I've always assumed that those holes are for clean out and inspection of the hangers.
