Howdy all:

We were walking down the street last week and spotted a brand new Fiat 500 cruising up Connecticut Avenue in DC. Could have been a diplomat's car, though I couldn't see if it had diplomatic plates. Reminded me of the MGF I used to see all the time, driven by an RAF officer stationed at the British Embassy.

Yeah, they're talking about bring the ~Abarth~ to the US. Very cool.

Agreed that an Abarth version would be tres cool. On the other hand, I hope Fiat doesn't do what BMW did with the MINI in the US, which was to turn it into such an upscale, trendy car that it seems to me not to carry any of the spirit of the original Mini. Much as I like the Cooper S, etc., etc., it would be nice to have less expensive and more frugal versions such as seem to be available in many other parts of the world (i.e., MINI First or MINI One in the UK). Not all of us want to be boy racers all the time!

But then, I'm a Triumph Herald/Triumph 10 guy, so....
