Saw this car in a driveway while I was on my way to a friend's house. The car has been in the family since new. The father put the Rover in it. Needs a new top, fix oil leak (don't know what the leak is), and redo the seats. Didn't like the dash, but it was done pretty well. I'm gonna pass on the car cause of too many projects, but I can pass on the owner's number if someone is interested. I think he may go as low as $2000 cash. The car started nicely but I didn't take it for a drive.
Just passing the info on to the forum.
Rick

Haha, that lump on the bonnet is awful. Needs a low cleaner and Carb. I supose.

Yea...it doesn't look like much...but I bet it would be fun or COULD be fun. If I were closer, I would take a look!

To my eye, this car appears to have an Oldsmobile 215 engine. The angle/shape of the valve covers is quite different. The Olds version of the engine came with different (arguably better breathing) cylinder heads. Olds 215 heads came in several different versions with differently sized combustion chambers to provide different compression ratios, whereas the various Buick and Rover versions of the engine used one size combustion chamber and varied compression ratio from car model to model by using different pistons. The lower-compression version of the Olds heads don't get much love. However, if this particular engine has the higher compression Olds heads, it will probably outperform most 3.5L Rover versions of the engine.

If someone is seriously interested in these cars, the place to learn about them is https://www.britishv8.org

If someone is buying or selling an MGB V8, the "classified ad" section of the British V8 website is the right place. There are several good cars listed at the moment.

This one is very nice... https://forum.britishv8.org/read.php?11,913
