Sporty urban commuter car

They tend to be in the way on the road around here, driving well under even city posted speeds and holding up traffic. I noticed their city mpg rating is better than their highway rating. When we pass them in our TR6 I wonder who wishes they were in which vehicle?

Well Tom,
I have to say that living in a metro area I see the gridlocks
morning and evening due to huge SUVs with only the driver inside.
Two hours to drive the ten miles into the business district.
Ask Tony Barnhill about our evening rush hours. :wall:

The geometry of autos 50% less in length suggests an equal reduction
in the metro gridlocks.

Strange, I like it.

You have a valid point Dale. The problem here is that they just tend to drive slow. Probably to make bragging mileage numbers.

Urban, metro traffic tends to average less than 10 mph in
every large city I have ever visited.

My daily commuter vehicle has a turbocharged EMD 645E3 16 cylinder, two-stroke, water-cooled "Vee" diesel engine (prime mover) that develops 3,000 tractive horsepower (2.2 MW) at maximum rpm! Gets amazing milage, carries as many people as want to come with me and costs me nothing for maintenance!

Most likely due to the driver, not the car. The ones I see around here keep up with traffic nicely, usually better than I can in the Herald.

To bad they eliminated the roadster.

You do NOT want to be in the evening rush in Puerto Rico!!! It took us 3 hours to go 17 miles!! I could've walked it faster!!

I remember a trip to the San Juan Airport...due to gridlock making it look like we might miss our flight, the cabbie did most of about 6 blocks on sidewalks rather than the traffic lanes. But we did make our flight.

I always wanted one of these....

I am amazed at what those Messerschmidts sell for! My wife wants one....been keeping my eye out....

There is a small used car lot in my town that has 3 Smart cars for sale. I thought they were hard to come by. I did see one screaming down the highway, maybe 85 mph and it wasn't the Diablo.

Me too, I almost bought one a few years ago, in very good shape and reasonably priced, only problem is that I don't have a garage to hide it in, and it would not survive long left out on the street.
