Spontaneous Human, er, Auto Combustion

Why the recall now? Some of these models go back to 2014.

We had a similar 'you might not want to park in the garage while we look for a solution' letter from Mini.

A friend parked, walked into the house, put down his briefcase walked back out to get the mail to see his Mini completely engulfed in flames - that was likely a module from the turbo - Mrs JP OTOH doesn't have a turbo on her Mini. Hers was something in the passenger compartment.

Glad to see my Kia Telluride isn't on the list. (I don't park it in the garage anyway).

My Healey has a battery cutoff switch, standard, to prevent those kind of things. Which is good since it's the only car that will fit in the garage.

Audi had same/similar recall notice and a very long wait for replacement part(s) to correct the problem. Parked Q5 on street for everyone in neighborhood to enjoy its pyre. Never happened though.

Just received a recall notice for our Q5.
