Spitfire Spitfire vs midget wire wheels?

Hello, Looking for anyone who can spare / share their knowledge of the differences between the MG midget wire wheels vs. Spitfire wire wheels.
Looks like the 4-1/2” are spitfire and 4” are midget. Is this the only difference? How about the splines? They look to be the same size but…. length? Hub shape? Both cars use 60 spoke as the norm. I don’t know if I’ve ever known what the differences are? What is the backspacing (offset) of a spitfire wheel? If you know this, thank you for sharing your knowledge, I love to know.

Backspacing I can't help you with, and you are correct about the widths. The splines are the same, but I've been told that the splines on the Midget wheels are twice as long (deep?), which arguably makes for a better wheel.

Thank you for that answer, I've seen the length difference and been told that years back. But not knowing the why and seen it in print anywhere I was hoping someone would know background to this.
