Spitfire Spitfire stereo question

[ QUOTE ]
Yeah-- I've had one for about 30 years-- use it far more than the table saw.

My problem is if I bring another tool of that size into the garage, I'll be shot... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nonono.gif Hmm... might take my table saw home and pick up one of those 10" bench-top band-saws. Not really what I want (14"), but easier to find a home for... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nonod.gif

Hey Robyn,I have a Spit like yours.I have a 6-speaker system.Two 6x9 are mounted in the side panel footwell(L&R)
And two 5" mounted in the rear panel. That back panel is EASILY removed to mount the speakers,The previous thread mentioned plastic rear shroud housings you can buy a Radio Shack,The shrouds are a good idea because they act to direct the sound to the front better.Factory dealers mounted a 6x9 up behind the drivers side pointing down & a 41/2"speaker mounted at the rear corner of the passenger side parcel shelf. That speaker i bid on & won on Ebay & is ready to mount,Some dealers also mounted speakers on each rear fender behind the seats. And one other thing BRITISH LEYLAND offered an 8-TRACK DECK to there AM-FM radios with the British Leyland name on the radio.Heretofore unknown to alot of us....When SPRING breaks i'll also be mounting a NOS FULL AMCO center console with a 5x7 speaker(and opening glove-box) mounted in it.They were a dealer option in the 70's.When its all finished i'll have 7 speakers outfitted,to an AM-FM CD deck.Should be enough to damp any unwelcome noises WhiteLightning puts out.Robyn if you need photo's of my setup i'd be happy to send um. GOOD LUCK Ken /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/savewave.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/driving.gif

Wow! That's a lot of speakers in a small space. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

I think we're going to (eventually) go with the idea of a speaker box with storage in the center. Would be nice to have a bit of concealed storage in the car. Could use some storage for stuff like a tire pressure gauge, EZ Pass transponder, spare hat, etc. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
