Spitfire spitfire rear spring question

hi all,
i'm in the middle of replacing the rear spring in my 76 spitfire and was wondering what the torque spec was for the nuts on the studs that hold the spring to the top of the diff- i think its 34 lbf but i have two different # from two different books so i just want to be sure.

Also was wondering is i should but threadlocker on the studs where they go into the diff.? i didn't but now im think i should have but im not sure if its needed. thanks

Well, what I do in that situation is a torque spec in between the two numbers, I don't remember using locker on those studs but I know I did use a gasket sealer, the brown stuff as I recall to make sure the oil stays in the diff.

yea i fig this was a pretty important to get the torque spec right so i didnt want to just guess as i figured one of them had to be right, right? i think? it doesnt say anything anywhere about the sealer but thats not a bad idea either... thanks
