Spitfire Spitfire MK3 accelerator bushings

What's the best way to install the accelerator bushings on a Spitfire MK3. From the looks of things I'm surmising they mount in the fire wall but what's the easiest way to get them in the holes?

Heat them in boiling water or very briefly in the microwave until they become more pliable. When away from the heat source, work very quickly.
Be prepared to get very frustrated and have plenty of your favorite beverage on hand. It may help to buy an extra set of bushings, as the first set may get damaged or lost in the yard when your frustration hits it's peak.

Thanks.

I'll order another pair and plenty of beverage.

They are absolutely a beee-atch. It think I also used some type of slickem too. When I did mine the body was off the chassis.
