Picking up from this thread: https://www.britishcarforum.com/bcforum/u..._Kit#Post447474

The owner of the 3000 MKIII I'm working on dropped these off today. I haven't had a chance to check the parts off the list, to see what might be missing (one__1__fanbelt, for certain) but they look to be amazingly complete. I'm impressed!

While these are nice to have, I don't see myself adding a mid-60s Spitfire to my collection...

wonder what's the little mirror that's included with the distributor cap?

I also like the note on the box that's says "on loan". Wonder when they expect it back?

Wanna sell one? A MkIII buddy of mine would love one I think!

Probably sell/trade them both, as I don't see any Spitfires in my future.

It'll be a while before I get a chance to take count of what's left in the boxes, and establish a price based on currently available replacement parts.

There's little doubt, these are all NOS parts, but I think the real value wouldn't be so much using them in a restoration, but to have the whole kit on display when the car's at shows. That has to carry at least as much merit as having a full toolkit

I think they're pretty cool, I wish something comparable was available for my Healey.

That's the tin lid for the (un)sealed distributor cap box. I'm not the one that opened it, and the box is still sealed in the other kit.

I expect that they gave up on ever getting these kits back!

Leads me to wonder though; how many do you suppose were produced, and how many people have ever heard of, or seen one!

I suppose if the kits are listed in the parts manual, some of the more serious enthusiasts are aware of them, but again, how many have seen one?
