Spitfire Spitfire Header

I am attempting to install a monza header on a 79 spit. I got the old manifold and such off but now the problem is getting the header into the space where it is supposed to go. Anybody put on and and has a fairly easy way of getting the header in between the engine and the frame?

As a WAG I'd say loosen or disconnect the motor mounts and jack up and jiggle the engine off to the opposite side. The last time I had to do headers I put them in first and then the engine. Bob

Had the same problem, it fianlly fit once I pulled the pipe with the 3 hole mounting flange off, then it fit no problem. I was as frustrated as an NFL team owner.

That is why I pulled off my Monza and threw it away. Not enough space between the frame and engine. Welded a new one out of stainless.
