Spitfire Spitfire full syncro gearbox build

Offline
I would like to build a full syncro 3 rail gearbox for my Mark 1 Spitfire. I'm a college student with a college student budget so this leaves me to be creative and always thinking to help with my build

If I had the funds and the resources to find a full syncro 3 rail box from a mark 4 Spit I'd make adjustments and stick that in.

My father has a spare gearbox for his mark 3 I have already torn apart and started to find pieces I can use.

If you have spare gears and bits laying around for a mk4 gearbox or 1500 layshaft gears, I would be interested in buying them. Thank you very much!

I don't believe it's possible to build an all-synchro box out of your present gearbox, if that's what you're suggesting. Among other things, the main case itself is something like 5/8" longer in the all-synchro box.

That said, I have some all-synchro boxes good for cores/spares....

Conrad,
Swing by the shop! We may have one upstairs. I will be going through everything and cataloging it. May even have an overdrive unit. Shoot me a PM.

Alrighty, I may need to look into it a little more. I've been researching it for a few years now and haven't had any luck finding the specific dimensions of everything. You two are awesome! I'll definitely let you know!
