Spitfire Spitfire Comm # Help

Hi All,

Trying to help a friend find out a little more info about a Spitfire he just bought.

Looks like it is a 1963 based on the comm # of FC7628L

Can anyone confirm this and possibly narrow the production date down based on other know spits.

Also, are there paint and trim code tags on these cars? If so, where would they be found normally?

as per rimmer bros. its a 1963. on my mk 4 the paint and trim codes are on a data plate on the driverside b pillat

Unfortunately, it wasn't until around 1964 that Triumph started putting paint and trim code numbers on the commission number plates.
