Spitfire Spitfire choke cable

My son and I recently installed dual HS4’s in our 1977 spitfire 1500. This has nicely improved the car. Likely the best $500 we have spent. All the minor bugs are worked out however I have two remaining questions.

1-Where does the choke cable pass through the dash. What is the location? Is there a reinforced area for the cable in the dash?

2-Where does the cable pass through the fire wall in route to the carbs?

I have a new cable to replace a temporary we installed that does not work well.

That car had no manual choke accommodation, IIRC, but there may be a "legacy" hole in the firewall with a plug from when the cars did have 'em. As for the dash location, I'd look at earlier layouts and "approximate".

Larry,

I have a mk3 spit with manual choke...standard position for choke shown by red arrow below.

Can't remember the exact routing but almost certain there is a large grommet in firewall just inboard of the brake master cylinder and it passes thru' this.

Thanks guys.

I was wondering if there is a special space in the dash. I did not want to take it apart to look. I thought I felt some framework where the hole appears to go.

On my 78 it is on the right panel. One inch from the top, and five inches from the left edge of the panel.
