Spitfire Spitfire cam bearings?

Yes, I used the "search" function here, but couldn't find exactly what I needed to know....

If a 1500 (Spit) engine is lightly damaged where the cam rides, can this be machined out so that the older (1300-style) cam bearing can be installed?
(these 1500 engines dodn't come with cam bearings)

And, assuming this can be done, do you have to use the older (1300-style) camshaft designed for the cam bearing engines?

Finally, does anyone have the specs on the bore size needed to fit the older style cam bearings into a 1500 block?

Thanks for any of this that you may know.

I have not done this myself but as I understand yes, it can be done. You will need the 1300 style camshaft which uses a slightly different diameter bore.
