Finally getting around to replacing shocks on front. This is what I'm taking out...

this is what is going back (spax adjustable and new spring)... but can't find a torque spec anywhere for this nut...any ideas??

There is no such spec. given even in the factory workshop manual. But perhaps the point is moot, since a: you're going with not-quite-stock components, and b: perhaps the only "critical" thing here is that the two nuts be jammed together so that there is no chance of them working up the threaded shaft.

The bottom nut should be tight enough to slightly compress the bushing. All you really need to make sure is that there isn't wiggle room (in the bushing) when it is installed or it will start making a clunking noise as the shock bangs around in there.

Question: Where did you get that spring compressor?
 
- ebay purchase from the UK. Guy called Ian over there makes a few different "devices" and parts for the spitfire.

- I tried using the 2 piece hook type found in most of the stores over here. Scared me to death once there was a load on the spring. Even with the extra hooks in place the whole thing started to twist off the spring. This one's not too cheap but works a treat, and more importantly, safely.

- I also have one of his hub pullers. I didn't get this one direct off him. Someone in the UK bought it from him, used it, and then resold on ebay...to me.

- I'm lucky in that these are quite heavy items and would cost a pretty penny to ship from England. I import/export product to and from the UK all time so these things hop a ride with my other products.
