Had to go with the DELCO one as it was on the shelf.

Some goop in the pan, not a lot, just a few very small metal fileings as expected.

well JL, next time try for NO filings.....Palmolive dish soap and a lot of scruba-duba.

I use a Fram 3600. I think the spin on part is 3/4".

I prefered to keep the old canister type filter. Its not like I am going to be changing oil once a month or something. Probably more like once a year and If I spill any oil that area will probably need to be washed anyways.

I don't know Kim, I lost faith in that old thing when the O-ring went on me once on I-95. Give me a spin-on any day!!!

the wix works well!
I bought a different brand I think it was STP and it hit the engine mount

Give Kim about 2 oil changes and he will be asking just where he can get the spin-on adapter!!

I have a related topic where I need the help of those reading this thread.

If you have a canister type filter head (off the car) would you please measure the "depth" of the mounting boss? I need to know the distance from the surface that bolts up to the block to the surface under the head of the bolts. It should be something close to 2.9" but I don't have one to measure.

Thanks in advance.

Who don't know that's right /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

No doubt, Hap.
I like the Fram because of that handy little grip stuff. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif Making life just a little bit easier.

Doug, I measured 2, both Purolators. I got 2.911" on one, and 2.920" on the second. I would imagine the Tecalamit would measure the same, but couldn't find one.
