MGB Spin-on filter adapter for '69 MGB

Can I fit a spin-on oil filter adapter to my '69 B? The catalogs list one for the earlier cars and the later cars, but not for '68-'69. My car has the inverted Tecalemit filter. What's the difference? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I'm not sure why the early adaptors don't work, but you can use one like this from a later MGB. I have one on my car and it's great.

What is that funky by pass-like pipe going up and around the filter? I have an extra mount for an inverted spin on filter, but maybe it is not what you need /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Bruce on later cars they deleted the oil cooler and put in that bypass pipe. But on an early car you should be able to plumb that line into a oil cooler.

I fit a spin-on replacement from Moss on my 69, fits fine, no problems.
