I just got a rebuilt speedometer that does not have the extention on the Trip odometer reset. I have one on the old speedo. How do these attach? I don't see any way to remove it from the old one.
Thanks /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazyeyes.gif

It's held on with a cotter pin that goes through the extension piece and the rod that resets the trip odometer. You're going to have to remove the speedo from the housing to gain access.

Pull apart the old one, and you'll see. You'll have to twist off the chrome bezel and then remove the glass. There are a couple of screws in the back that have to be removed. Now you should be able to extract the speedo from the case. IIRC, to get the guts out of the housing, you have to push up on the reset knob so it will clear the housing.
